AstraZeneca's vaccine is going worldwide, Western Union grabs stake in Saudi's biggest Telecoms company.
In breaking news, it’s raining Coronavirus vaccines. AstraZeneca (NASDAQ: AZN), in partnership with Oxford University, said its vaccine could be 90% effective and can also be stored at fridge temperatures. AstraZeneca already has 100 million doses of the vaccine that’s been manufactured at different sites globally. Other things being equal, they will be able to roll out more worldwide from next year. Western Union (NYSE: WU) snapped a 15% stake in a $200 million deal with Saudi Arabia’s largest telecoms operator, STC Pay. STC Pay is valued at $1.3 billion and has over 6 million users. Western Union saw 45% year-over-year growth, and CEO Hikmet Ersek is pleased with the development. Click here to read more.
In what is a good year for EVs, electric vehicle company, Arrival, is going public through a SPAC. The company is valued at about $5.4 billion and has about $660 million in cash to fund its growth. The ambitious five-year-old startup focuses solely on buses and vans and plans to open micro-factories in the U.S and U.K. The company has also secured a deal to supply electric vans for UPS.
