Immunomedics Inc (NASDAQ: IMMU), Stock Price: $83.65

Immunomedics Inc was all the rave on Monday after news broke that  Gilead Sciences will acquire the biotech company for $21 billion. The deal will give Gilead access to Immunomedics’ breast cancer treatment drug, Trodelvy, which was granted accelerated  FDA approval this year. The stock already soared about 107% in pre-market trading on Monday so we are watching to see if the stock will retain this momentum. Click here to read more.

Oracle Corporation (NYSE: ORCL), Stock Price: $59.46

Oracle Corp has been selected as the “trusted tech partner” to manage TikTok’s U.S. cloud operations. The deal came shortly after ByteDance, the owner of TikTok, rejected Microsoft’s acquisition bid for the video app. Oracle’s shares which already had a positive run last week after the company reported impressive Q2 results, climbed a further 6% on the news. Drug Manufacturers

AstraZeneca Plc (NYSE: AZN), Stock Price: $54.02

Much to the cheer and relief of investors worldwide, AstraZeneca resumed late-stage trials of its Covid-19 vaccine candidate after pausing briefly due to illness in a participant. AstraZeneca’s vaccine is touted as one of the most advanced in development and its stock has risen about 11% this year. Click here to read more 

Semiconductors

Nvidia Corporation (NASDAQ: NVDA), Stock Price: $514.89

Nvidia Corp, the biggest U.S. chip company by market capitalisation, is set to buy chip designer Arm from SoftBank Group for $40 billion. The sale puts a vital supplier to Apple Inc and others across the industry under the control of Nvidia. Nvidia stock surged about 9% in Monday’s trading session. The deal could face pushback from regulators and Nvidia’s rivals so we are watching to see how it unfolds. Click here to read more.
