Shares of Tesla Inc (NASDAQ: TSLA) hit $2000 for the first time ever on Thursday, just ahead of the company’s upcoming five-for-one stock split. The stock was up 6.6% and closed at an all-time high of $2,001.83. Since August 11 when the company announced its stock split, the stock has soared 45%. It has soared over 300% in 2020 alone. Alibaba Group Holding Ltd (NYSE: BABA) saw substantial growth in its core commerce and cloud computing businesses in Q2 following China’s emergence from the Covid-19 lockdown. Sales from the company’s commerce business jumped 34% to $19.29 billion dollars while its cloud computing revenue grew 59% year-over-year. Facebook (NASDAQ: FB) disclosed on Thursday that its CEO, Mark Zuckerberg, testified at a hearing before the Federal Trade Commission this week as part of the antitrust investigation launched by the Agency in June 2019. Although the specifics of Zuckerberg’s testimony were not revealed, Facebook (NASDAQ: FB) stated that it was committed to cooperating with the FTC’s inquiry and answering the questions the Agency might have.
